Medellín LRV delivered

The Ayacucho LRV project has received its first tram following a 9,000-kilometre journey from Strasbourg to Medellín, Colombia.

Alstom and NTL have delivered the first of 12 Translohr STE5 light rail vehicles.

The 4.3-kilometre Ayacucho system, which is set to open in mid-2015, will carry around 80,000 passengers every day.

Alstom is delivering the project as the head of the UT Alstom-Sytecsa consortium. The French partner is responsible for the the project management, suppling the traction equipment and power systems.
