TransPennine Express to refund customers affected by Co-op Live delays

TransPennine Express (TPE) is offering full refunds to customers impacted by delays to the opening of Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena.

The train operator will also still run its extra late-night service which had been planned to coincide with fans returning home from Olivia Rodrigo’s Friday night concert.

The Co-op Live arena’s opening has been postponed after a fault stalled a gig by rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. Scheduled performances of Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts World Tour on Friday 3 May and Saturday 4 May have also been cancelled for now.

The refunds apply to those who purchased their train tickets directly through TPE or Trainline and will be provided without any administration charge.

This offer also applies to Advance tickets which are not normally refundable. Customers should present their concert ticket as proof that they are eligible for a refund.

Darren Higgins, commercial director for TPE, said: “We recognise that many of our customers will be affected by postponed events at the Co-op Live arena. We hope the decision to offer full refunds will provide some relief to those who have been impacted.

“We look forward to seeing them on our services once these events have been rescheduled.”
