Alstom has been awarded maintenance contracts for Västtrafik and Östgöta Trafiken commuter trains in Sweden totalling 19 years.
SJ has handed the French multi-national a nine-year contract for its Västtrafik commuter and regional trains and Arriva a 10-year contract for its Östgöta Trafiken commuter trains.
Västtrafik has a fleet of 63 electric multiple units (EMU) trains, including 22 Coradia Nordic units. The trains will be maintained and operate in Gothenburg.
Östgöta Trafi operates 19 EMUs, including 13 Coradia Nordic. Maintenance will be carried out in Boxholm and the trains will carry passengers in the Norrköping, Mjölby and Motala, and Tranås regions.
