Vienna West voted Austria’s prettiest station

Listen to this article

Passengers have voted Vienna Westbahnhof as Austria’s prettiest railway station.

Out of the 15,000 passengers questioned by transport interest group VCÖ, Linz Hauptbahnhof was identified as the second most popular and Salzburg Central Station the third.

Vienna West Station underwent a major modernisation between 2008 and 2011 – a project that demonstrates the level of investment in stations by Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB).

ÖBB has said that a quarter of its capital investment budget between 2013-18 will go into upgrading stations across the network.
