Google has revealed plans to build its new UK headquarters on the King’s Cross development site.
Work is expected to begin on the new 2.4 acre plot, which lies just north of King’s Cross station, late this year.
Matt Brittin, vice president for Northern and Central Europe, said: “This is a big investment by Google, we’re committing further to the UK – where computing and the web were invented.”
Google employees will be relocated from their current offices in Victoria and Holborn when the new complex is completed in 2016.
Brittin added: “It’s good news for Google, for London and for the UK.”
This latest deal means that over 50 per cent of the commercial space at King’s Cross is now either completed or committed.
