The final MX300 metro train has been delivered to Oslo, taking the Norwegian capital’s fleet of Siemens trains to 115.
Since placing an initial order for 33 vehicles in 2003, Oslo’s public transport operator, Sporveien, has placed follow up orders in 2005, 2008 and 2010.
The metros, which have a maximum operating speed of 80 km/h, have all been built in Vienna and have undergone a comprehensive testing programme to prepare them for the harsh Norwegian winters in Oslo where temperatures can fall to minus 25 degrees Celsius.
Awesome! 🙂
