Tampere has shortlisted two consortia to go forward to the next stage of bidding for the contract to design and build the city’s planned tram network.
Phase one of the route will link the city centre with the suburb of Hervanta. The plan is then to extend it by 2022 to Tampere’s central hospital and the Lentävänniemi suburb.
Shortlisted consortia include:
TRALLI – VR-Track Ltd, YIT Construction Ltd and Pöyry Finland Oy and Ratatek Ltd.
TRALA – Lemminkäinen Infra Oy, Ramboll Finland Oy, Alstom Transport SA and A-Design Engineers Ltd.
The contract is expected to be awarded in June. The contractor will then work with the city council until August 2016 developing more detailed designs before making a final decision on the construction of the new line.
