East Midlands Trains will be making some minor changes to its train timetables from Sunday 22 May, and passengers are advised to check the timetable for any changes to their train times.
David Horne, Customer Service Director for East Midlands Trains, said:
“The new timetable will see some small timing changes, particularly around the Lincolnshire area as a result of changes to the East Coast Main Line timetable, and we’d advise passengers to check on our website, for a copy of the new times.”
The new timetable, which will run until 10 December 2011, will contain the following key changes across each route:
Newark Northgate – Lincoln – Cleethorpes
As a result of changes to the East Coast Main Line timetable, there will be some changes to timings on this route to maintain connections. Sunday services to Grimsby and Cleethorpes will run again during the summer period.
Peterborough – Lincoln – Doncaster
Again, as a result of changes to the East Coast Line timetable, some trains on this route have been re-timed to maintain connections.
Nottingham – Mansfield – Worksop
As a result of Nottinghamshire County Council continuing to fund a number of Sunday services on this line, Sunday services will still run but at a slightly reduced level.
Nottingham – Skegness
Following stakeholder feedback, the 18.58 service from Grantham to Nottingham on Mondays to Saturdays will call additionally at Bingham to improve connections.
In addition, on Saturdays from 23 July, East Midlands Trains will once again be providing hundreds of additional seats over the summer by running a special eight-carriage train between Nottingham and Skegness.
Liverpool – Norwich
On Saturdays, the 15.52 from Norwich will be extended to Liverpool and there will be an additional train at 21.37 from Liverpool to Nottingham. On Sundays, and as a result of direct stakeholder feedback, the 19.52 from Liverpool to Nottingham will call additionally at Dronfield.
Further improvements are planned on the route for later in the year as a result of the additional carriages being secured to help improve capacity. Further details on these improvements will follow.
There are no significant timetable changes planned for the Nottingham-Derby-Matlock route, the Leicester – Nottingham – Lincoln route or the Derby-Crewe route.
