East Midlands Trains, the UK’s ‘most punctual long distance train operator’, has announced that passengers in Sheffield and Chesterfield are set to benefit from cheaper First Class fares from next Monday (23 May).

The range of business fares, including First Class anytime, off peak and super off peak fares will all reduce by an average of 5%.

David Horne, Customer Service & Commercial Director for East Midlands Trains, said:

“We’ve put a huge focus on making sure that passengers in Sheffield and Chesterfield are benefitting from fast, reliable and frequent train services to London.

“We’ve proud to remain the UK’s most punctual train operator – a record that has been unbeaten since December 2008 – and we’re now delivering high levels of customer service to our passengers.

“Business passengers travelling on our trains to London have access to two trains an hour to the Capital, as well as added extras such as First Class lounges at both Sheffield and St Pancras stations, complimentary reliable on-board WiFi, a great value all day menu and improved trains through our £6 million Meridian refurbishment programme.

“However, we want to make sure that we remain the number one choice for people travelling between South Yorkshire and London, so from Monday, we’ll be offering even cheaper First Class fares to London with all of our business fares reduced by an average of 5% to make sure that our passengers get the best value for money no matter when they travel!”
