DSB appoints programme director to lead procurement of electric trains

Danish State Railways (DSB) has appointed Jürgen Müller to take a lead on the procurement of electric trains to replace DSB’s diesel fleet.

Müller, who joins from McKinsey & Company, Sweden, will join DSB on October 1 as a procurement programme director.

DSB and the Danish government hope to electrify all of Denmark’s main line rail network by the mid 2020s,

Togfonden – a new rail infrastructure funding model based on the taxation of North Sea oil extraction – will generate €3.82 billion over the next 10 years to fund the electrification programme and procurement of a new electric train fleet.
