Tech partnership adds at-seat catering capabilities to Real-Time Journey Dashboard.

Two British tech disruptors – Whoosh and Ordamo – have joined forces to improve rail journey experiences. Supporting Covid-safe train travel, their combined digital skills increase the capabilities of the recently launched, multi-functional platform, Real-Time Journey Dashboard.

Enhancing the customer experience before, during and after their journey, the new platform hands information to, and increases control for, passengers via their mobile phones. A simple, safe and secure technology solution, Whoosh and Ordamo offer seamless, digital at-seat ordering, alongside bespoke real-time journey information, direct two-way communication between passenger and operator, and more.

For passengers using the Real-Time Journey Dashboard, the at-seat QR-enabled platform offers a better, personalised, contactless and Covid-safe on-board experience. For train operators, the ground-breaking tech delivers cost savings, improved revenue earning opportunities and greater passenger satisfaction.

Edmund Caldecott, Whoosh CEO and founder, said:

“We have partnered with Ordamo to introduce at-seat catering to our Real-Time Journey Dashboard. Now, whether passengers want to order lunch or a coffee (regular cappuccino, or oat milk, no foam, with chocolate), or need to plan their onward journey, get service updates or report an on-board issue, they have the power, in their seat and at their fingertips. We’re passionate about making rail travel better and this partnership is a natural fit as we continue our work to overcome passenger gripes and improve the journey experience.”

Rupert Gutteridge, Ordamo CEO, added:

“We’re excited to be working with Whoosh to bring our digital ordering technology on-board the UK’s rail network. Over the past 12 months we’ve all become much more used to using our phones to order everything from our meals and weekly shop to our next evening watch or another stack of lockdown reads. As we look toward our lives in the new normal, we’ll all be seeking technology that ensures Covid-safe ways to start travelling and engaging again. The Real-Time Journey Dashboard means that rail passengers can feel secure in all aspects of getting back on-board.”

Ordamo’s at-seat ordering technology is integrated into Whoosh’s Real-Time Journey Dashboard, the platform’s open access API allows train operators to integrate their digital services so that passengers have all they need in one user-friendly interface.
