Volker Rail has been awarded a contract to electrify 40 kilometres of railway between Zwolle and Wierden in The Netherlands.
Approved by the province of Overijssel and ProRail, the project will involve the installation of more than 900 catenary masts.
Work is due to start in October and be completed by mid-2017.
Bridge clearance work will have to be carried out at the Looweg in Wierden to allow the overhead lines to pass beneath a cycle bridge.
