Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) has produced a shocking video showing the danger and destruction that motorists can face on level crossings.
ÖBB, which spends 25 million euros a year improving safety on level crossings, simulated a crash in an attempt to hammer home the risk people are taking when they don’t respect the warning signs.
Every year around 400 people are killed at level crossings around Europe, with 15 deaths and 32 serious injuries in Austria last year.
