“Our goal is to always provide UPS with flawless service, and that is especially important during peak season,” said John Kaiser, Union Pacific vice president and general manager – Intermodal.

“The combination of Union Pacific’s fast and reliable rail service and UPS’s premier package delivery network allowed consumers and businesses to enjoy a worry-free holiday season.

“Union Pacific is pleased that we achieved another perfect peak season for UPS in 2011.”

The UPS peak season begins the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and concludes Christmas Eve.

During the 2011 peak season, Union Pacific delivered thousands of UPS containers and trailers carrying hundreds of packages each, many specifically for the holidays.
