Punctuality on the railways reached 91.5% during period 7, according to monthly performance data released today by Network Rail.
The data for Britain’s train services covers the period from Sept 18 2011-Oct 15 2011. This compares to 92.8% for the same period last year.
The moving annual average is now at 90.4%.
The best performing train operators were London Overground who ran 96.9% of their services on time and c2c whose services ran on time 96.5% of the time.
The worst performing train operators were East Coast who only ran 84.1% of trains on time and Virgin Trains, who ran 84.5% of their services on time.
East Coast’s performance was ‘hampered by a number of Network Rail infrastructure failures’, Network Rail said.
