Video footage released by Crossrail shows the project’s first tunnelling “breakthrough” at the Limmo Peninsular worksite near Canning Town.
The newly constructed tunnel connects the two launch shafts, and will allow the third and fourth TBMs, Elizabeth and Victoria, to be lowered down in sections and assembled underground.
