TfL gives strike travel advice

London Underground (LU) has warned passengers to avoid the Jubilee Line on April 2 if talks to avert strike action fail.

If the strike goes ahead there will be no service between Stanmore and Wembley Park and a reduced service on the rest of the line.

TfL held talks with ASLEF and RMT, through the conciliation service ACAS, yesterday (March 27) and is continuing discussions today.

Howard Collins, LU’s chief operating officer, said: “The ASLEF and RMT leaderships raised a number of issues with us, all of which we have either addressed or are happy to discuss further.

“The main complaint from ASLEF, which centred on the attendance record of one driver, has now been resolved.

“Discussions are continuing to deal with the final remaining issues.”

Passengers have been issue with the following advice:

  • For central London from stations north of Wembley Park, please use local bus services or nearby London Overground, Northern, Metropolitan or Bakerloo line connections where possible
  • From Wembley area to Central London, please use either the Bakerloo line from North Wembley or Wembley Central or the Metropolitan line from Wembley Park, which will call additionally at Neasden
  • From Baker Street to Central London and London Bridge, please use either the Bakerloo, Metropolitan, Circle, or Hammersmith & City services and change as appropriate
  • From London Bridge to North Greenwich, please use the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) from nearby Bank station, then local bus services
  • For Stratford, please use London Overground, DLR, Central line, National Rail or local bus services
