South West Trains is offering passengers travelling from Andover on Saturday 5th November an opportunity to try the train for the bargain price of only £10 return for adults and £5 for children.

The special initiative, ‘Rainbow Day’ aims to encourage people to give the train a try and travel anywhere on South West Trains network.

Thousands of discounted tickets will be available on Rainbow Day, and day trippers can choose from a range of destinations including a trip to London to see the sights of the capital city or to enjoy bonfire night at one of the many displays being held across the region.

Tickets will be sold exclusively at Andover station ticket office. A voucher will be required, which can be downloaded from the website.

Tickets can be bought in advance or on the day. There will be no limit to the number of Rainbow tickets issued on 5th November but all travel must be completed on that day only.

Jake Kelly, Customer Service Director for South West Trains, said:

“We are always looking to see how we can continue to develop our commitment to offering value for money travel through developing new initiatives.

“The Rainbow Day ticket is a great example of this and offers the additional benefit of being valid across the South West Trains, making it simple to use.

“This will offer a fast, flexible and very affordable £10 return to anywhere on South West Trains’ vast network.

“We have chosen bonfire weekend to give passengers the ability to take advantage of a great day out, including 2 for 1 offers at many attractions.

“This includes fireworks displays all across the network, for example Battersea Park, Clapham Common or Thorpe Park.

“South West Trains is the largest train operating company in the UK, and passengers will have a stunning variety of options, with 212 destinations to choose from, at a very special price of only £10 return per adult and £5 per child.”

South West Trains operates over the largest geographical network in the UK. In addition to seaside destinations of Bournemouth and Weymouth, it also serves the New Forest (Brockenhurst), the historic cities of Salisbury and Exeter and London .
