New York’s public transport authority, MTA, has released a video showing engineers repairing a section of track more than a kilometre in length following a derailment earlier this week.

Services along the city’s Long Island Railroad were cancelled after four carriages came off the track between Jamaica and Penn Station.

An investigation is now being carried out to identify the cause of the derailment.
