Montpellier Saint-Roch concourse takes shape

Listen to this article

The transformation of Montpellier Saint-Roch station has reached the halfway point and operator SNCF has released new pictures of the site’s spectacular new arched roof.

Construction began on the new £56 million interchange a year-and-a-half ago after the decision was takento completely redevelop the 19th century station.

Various extensions and modifications throughout its 170-year history had left Montpellier Saint-Roch no longer fit for purpose.

The new design includes a 220 metre-long central concourse housed under an EFTE panelled arched roof.
