Los Teques metro trains shipped

Listen to this article

Alstom has begun shipping a batch of new trains for the growing Los Teques metro system in Venezuela.

It is the first of 22 six-car metros being built for the city, which is currently constructing a second line. Nine Metropolis sets will be delivered before the end of the year.

The train, which was manufactured at Alstom’s Valenciennes factory, will take three weeks to travel from the port of Le Havre to Los Teques. On arrival, it will begin a phase of testing and commissioning.

The new fleet is due to start entering service later this year.

Line 2 of the Los Teques network will connect Tambor to San Antonio de Los Altos.
