Kraków receives Poland’s longest tram

Listen to this article

Kraków has become the owner of Poland’s longest tram after taking delivery of the first of 36 new light rail vehicles from PESA Bydgoszcz.

The tram is divided into four sections and was transported by road to the Podgórze tram depot in two parts.

At almost 43 metres, it is the longest tram in Poland and can carry up to 300 passengers.

Each tram includes USB charging points and onboard ticket machines.

Deliveries will continue until September 2015. The new vehicles will go into service on Line 4, allowing the operator to replace the line’s 35-year-old 105Na trams.
