Listen to this article

Kapsch CarrierCom has been awarded two more GSM-R projects in the Czech Republic covering around 300 kilometres of the country’s rail network.

The existing rail network will be extended and upgraded on the Kolín – Havlíčkův Brod – Křižanov – Brno main line and regional lines around Prague.

Both projects are due to be completed in 2016.

Kari Kapsch, chief executive of Kapsch CarrierCom, said: “The Czech Republic is an important transit country for intra-European rail travel. We are therefore all the more pleased that SŽDC s.o. has again entrusted us with contributing to a modern European railway infrastructure with the latest technologies.”
