Several French rail freight operators have confirmed orders with Vossloh for new EURO 4000 locomotives.

The deals, which have a total value of over €40 million, include 12 locomotives – some new and some leased.

French freight operator VFLI, a subsidiary of SNCF, is acquiring eight new vehicles – two of which will be supplied by Vossloh España and six will be made available by Beacon Rail Leasing.

Europorte has also ordered four new locomotives, increasing the total number of EURO 4000 locomotives operating on the French rail network to 40.

EURO 4000 units are designed and manufactured at Vossloh España’s Albuixech plant and are driven by Electro-Motive Diesel (EMD) engines.
