DB Schenker’s Polish arm has appointed Marek Staszek as the company’s new chief executive.
Staszek will take up the position from July 1, leaving his current role as chief financial officer (CFO) for DB Schenker Rail Polska.
The 45-year-old, who will replace Christian Schreyer, was previously chief executive of PTKiGK in Rybnik and CFO at PCC Rail SA, both of which were acquired by Deutsche Bahn in 2009.
Hans-Georg Werner, chairman of DB Schenker Rail Polska, said: “Marek Staszek will promote the positive development of the company and will carry on the company’s successful strategy for the benefit of DB Schenker Rail Group and its employees consistently.
“He has more than 20 years in the railroad business and has excellent skills in this area.
“With Marek Staszek the DB Group has found a leader who is thoroughly familiar with the business environment, the customer and the Polish market.”
