Boris Johnson visits District Line engineering works

TfL have posted a video of Boris Johnson visiting the on going engineering works on the District Line to give you all an update.

He says the ballasted track renewal he is witnessing is ‘absolutely crucial for the improvement of services.’

Boris also says that ‘the whole system needs it’ and in the long run, these works will mean ‘faster trains.’

‘Billions of pounds’ is being spent on the renewal of the London Underground network and ‘once it is done, tracks won’t need renewing for another 40 years.’

Boris also says that capacity on the London Underground will increase by about 30% due to these engineering works.
