Bombardier has signed a variation order worth 336 million euros for the production of parts for Deutsche Bahn’s (DB) new fleet of high-speed trains.

Under the agreement, Bombardier will supply Siemens with the body shells and trailer bogies for each of the 300 ICx vehicles ordered by DB since 2011.

Bombardier will also carry out the final assembly of all end coaches and of some intermediate coaches.

The shells are being developed in the Bombardier factory in Hennigsdorf and manufactured in Görlitz.

The carbody production of the ICx will start in the summer of 2013 – final assembly in spring 2014 – in preparation for the start of service in 2016.
