Listen to this article

Members of staff from First Hull Trains have been studying hard to gain food safety qualifications, ensuring that their food and hygiene skills are up to scratch.

John Dooley, Anthony Connoy, Amanda Walton, Zoe Welsh, Gary Varney and Mary-Ann Tennison were all awarded the Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering (Intermediate Food Safety) certificate from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

The members of staff took the three day programme as part of First Hull Trains’ plight to ensure health and safety across all aspects of the rail operator’s business.

Darren Fennah, Head of Customer Service Delivery at First Hull Trains, said:

“I would like to express my congratulations to all the members of First Hull Trains staff who have gained their qualification in food safety; this demonstrates our commitment to food safety.

“First Hull Trains deem it essential to ensure that all members of staff are fully qualified to carry out their duties to ensure the highest level of quality and safety for all passengers.

“It is imperative that all staff are equipped with both the knowledge and confidence to do their job effectively which is why they have all gained this qualification,” he added.

First Hull Trains continues to serve high quality food and beverages on-board its direct Hull to London services in addition to sourcing local products to be stocked on-board.
