Rail Europe, the reference brand for European train booking, is excited to announce the appointment of Robert From as Chief Growth Officer. In this executive role, Robert will oversee the B2C business, including customer acquisition, growth, retention, ancillaries, and monetisation. His arrival comes at a pivotal time as Rail Europe is set to launch a new booking experience for its B2C customers on both the website and app by beginning of 2025.

Robert brings over 15 years of experience in scaling technology and media businesses internationally. Previously, as Commercial COO at MaaS Global, he was responsible for managing the biggest global B2C MaaS platform called WHIM, also dubbed as the “Netflix of mobility”. In this position, he led the company to significant revenue, customer and usage growth – bringing the total number of customers served to 650k and facilitating 25M trips.

Before joining MaaS Global, Robert served in multiple leadership roles at Google in Northern Europe and Southeast Asia. In his last position he played a key role in expanding YouTube monetization in Finland and the Nordics. During his time at Google, he also successfully helped companies in technology, ecommerce, FMCG and consumer services to grow sales, build their brands and serve their customers better.

We are thrilled to welcome Robert to our team in this newly created executive position. Robert’s strategic vision and proven track record in customer acquisition and retention will be instrumental in advancing our position as a leading B2C train booking platform. As we prepare to unveil our entirely new booking experience, Robert and his team will play a crucial role in driving our B2C growth, ensuring a data-centric approach and delivering superior customer experiences,” stated Björn Bender, CEO of Rail Europe.

Speaking on his new role, Robert From says, “I am very excited to join Rail Europe at a key moment for both the company and the rail industry overall. The increase in consumer demand, the developing rail markets across Europe as well as the need to increase the share of more sustainable means of transportation, present a massive opportunity. I am looking forward to working with the talented teams across the company to serve our customers on their journeys.”

Rail Europe is confident that Robert From’s appointment will propel the company towards even greater success as it continues to innovate and enhance the travel experience for its customers.
