Institution of Railway Operators fills top job

Leading rail industry body the Institution of Railway Operators (IRO) has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer.

Fiona Tordoff, 46, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Professional Development with 20 years experience in the field of organisational change management, takes over the IRO reins from Chris Daughton who steps down after successfully leading the organisation for more than a decade.

Fiona said: “I am very much looking forward to helping the Institution grow and develop, and to serving its members through the membership and academic routes we offer.”

For the past ten years Fiona has headed Whitebridge Consultancy, which numbers Network Rail and National Express Group amongst its clients, using her background in human resources, organisation development and project methodology to provide solutions for client organisations planning further development and growth.

Fiona takes over leadership of the IRO in the year the body marks the eleventh anniversary of its founding.

The IRO are sponsoring this year’s Signaller of the Year at the Railstaff Awards.
