Eurostar is set for a bumper summer

Eurostar, the high-speed passenger service between the UK and mainland Europe is scheduling 16 extra services on its London to Paris route, and seven extra services on its London to Disneyland Paris routes this summer to meet heightened demand.

Over 950,000 passengers are expected to travel on Eurostar in July alone making this a bumper summer for high speed rail travel.

Nick Mercer, Commercial Director for Eurostar said: “In addition to a significant increase in the number of passengers taking our direct services, we’re seeing more and more passengers connect beyond Paris, Lille and Brussels.

“With convenient connections, fast journey times and clear environmental advantages people across the UK are starting to see how easy it is to travel across Europe by high speed rail.

“From destinations like Provence to Bruges, Amsterdam and Cologne, the increase in people booking connecting journeys with Eurostar is helping to fuel a rail renaissance.”

Eurostar will run 16 extra services on its London to Paris route from the 8 – 31 July on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Seven extra services will run on the London to Disneyland Paris route between 19 July and 27 August, with prices on all services starting from £69 return.

Journey times between London and Disneyland Paris on the Eurostar are only two and half hours, London and Amsterdam and London and Cologne are just over four hours and between London and Avignon it’s less than six hours.

Passengers can also take advantage of generous and free baggage allowances and 30 minute check-in.
