Signalling Solutions in South West recruitment call

Signalling Solutions (SSL) is ramping up its recruitment effort in order to deliver major signalling renewal works in the South West.

Earlier in the year, the Alstom/Balfour Beatty joint venture was awarded three contracts worth around £140 million to carry out re-signalling projects across the Great Western Main Line on key sections around Oxford, Swindon and Bristol.

On November 20, SSL will be holding an open day in Bristol as part of a recruitment drive to find applicants from a variety of disciplines to help design, test and commission the new systems.

The works will pave the way for the introduction of ERTMS on the Great Western Main Line in CP5 (2014-2019) – for which SSL’s lineside equipment has already been tested by Network Rail as part of its ETCS trials at Hitchin.

The package of works is set to be completed by December 2015, so the hunt is now on for talented testers, project managers and HSE executives to support its delivery.
