Earls Court has opened the doors to thousands of industry professionals to meet, learn, discuss, network, and experience over 420 exhibitors, thousands of products and numerous thought provoking seminars and project updates.

Chairman of Network Rail, Rick Haythornthwaite, delivered the keynote speech; ‘Working together to deliver a sustainable railway’ and outlined his vision of the future of the UK’s devolved rail infrastructure and Network Rail’s commitment to greater levels of safety, transparency and accountability.

Much of the Keynote was about ‘The Rail Delivery Group’ – established following the McNulty report to take forward the study’s proposals.

“The study recommends ‘a large amount of change’ that should be evolutionary rather than revolutionary; Focus on making existing structures work better; And how major changes and the identified efficiencies can still be delivered by adapting existing structures” said Mr Haythornthwaite.

Many of the changes within Network Rail have already begun.

Around Earls Court, the likes of Network Rail, Invensys, Siemens, Bombardier and Knorr-Bremse are displaying and discussing their latest products, services and initiatives at the show.

Rt Hon Philip Hammond MP will be sharing the Government’s latest thinking on Wednesday as he speaks in the rail engineer Seminar Theatre in the centre of the hall.

Sir Roy McNulty, author of the Value For Money report on the state and cost of British railways, will be speaking on Thursday 16 June and will be sharing his views of the challenges that need to be faced over the coming years.

You can find official media sponsors of Railtex, Rail Media (Parent company of Rail.co) on stand C81 from today until Thursday.

Those still wanting to visit can still register on the website.
