Amey has been awarded two critical lots on the Eastern Routes Partnership Framework, reinforcing our commitment to improving rail infrastructure and transforming rail journeys for people and communities.

Amey will deliver renewals and enhancements across Network Rail’s Eastern region and play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing signalling and telecoms equipment (Lot 2a) to ensure safe and efficient rail operations. Also critical to the framework is the maintenance and enhancement of overhead line equipment (Lot 3a), essential for electrification and efficient train services.

Supporting over 1 billion passenger journeys annually and transporting 1 million tonnes of freight each week, this five-year framework covers an extensive area. Having worked in the region for over 15 years, Amey’s expert knowledge and award-winning experience across the rail sector will transform journeys and enable local communities and natural ecosystems to thrive.

Drawing on in-house expertise in design, advisory and analytics, Amey will create transformative solutions that strengthen resilience across the rail network and drive sustainable improvements. Amey’s end-to-end delivery model and progressive approach to assurance and commercial certainty will maximise value throughout the whole asset lifecycle.

Peter Anderson, Managing Director at Amey, said: “We are delighted to be selected by Network Rail to deliver on the five-year Eastern Routes Partnership Framework, with a potential five-year extension. Through our extensive knowledge of the Eastern region, we will efficiently deliver client objectives, drive industry-leading safety performance, keeping people from harm, and accelerating our environmental and sustainability commitments to achieve Network Rail’s net zero carbon targets.

“Our exceptional expertise in working collaboratively with key partners will enable the partnership to find smarter, more sustainable solutions, delivering faster and more reliable train journeys.”

Having recently been selected by Network Rail to deliver its capital delivery frameworks for the North-West and Central region, Amey has vast experience in other complex, challenging infrastructure, such as the multi-billion pound Transpennine Route Upgrade. A transformative railway programme that will better connect passengers in the North between Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds and York and provide more reliable, faster and greener journeys, whilst improving connectivity.
