The tunnel boring machine 'Frixos' arrived at 25is Martiou station on the second tunnel of the Kalamaria extension on July 31, marking the completion of tunnelling activities. 

Alpiq Engineering Services specialises in services in construction and in energy, industrial and transport infrastructures and employs some 7,650 employees.

An international bidding process will now be launched by the Bogota Metro to find a company or group of companies to develop the project further.

Should the project proceed as planned, six years of construction will begin in 2021 and in 2027 MetroLink will be operational.

SNCF's €261 million order has been exercised from a contract signed with Bombardier Transportation for up to 372 trains in 2006. 

The consortium includes global investor Meridiam and not-for-profit company Windsor Link Railway. Other partners have not been revealed.

The new trains are set to improve comfort, reliability and punctuality when they enter service from 2021.

Alstom has received a €2.7 billion order from SNCF for 100 next-generation Avelia Horizon very high-speed TGV trains.
