Unipart Rail is pleased to announce the expansion of its Business Development team for Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH Region), with the appointments of Mr Kay Dörfler and Mr Ian Buck as Product Engineers.

Kay and Ian will be working with potential customers and suppliers in both freight and passenger sectors to develop product and service offerings that meet their needs.
In his early career Kay Dörfler worked on the construction of locomotives for Thyssen Henschel (now Bombardier) in Kassel, before moving on to design and plan the installation of the vehicle electrical systems. He then successfully ran his own business for five years and has spent the last 18 months carrying out the installation and testing of electrical power systems.
Ian Buck began his career with British Railways where he was responsible for the inspection and maintenance of rolling stock. With privatisation he joined the train leasing company, Angel Trains, where he undertook the roles of maintenance manager, planning engineer and contract manager before becoming the Senior Fleet Engineer for Angel Trains International (ATI.) Most recently Ian worked as a consultant for BMT Fleet Technology.
Neil Tinworth, Business Development Director of Unipart Rail, said: “Kay has a thorough understanding of the design and construction of locomotive systems. His career to date embodies the culture of achievement and continuous improvement that is at the heart of Unipart Rail. Ian spent many years working with me in Germany. His engineering and language skills will enable us to accelerate the development of our offerings to customers in the region. I am delighted that Kay and Ian have joined Unipart Rail. They will provide invaluable technical support to the team based in Kamen.”
