Southern’s new summer timetable arrives on 22 May

Southern’s new summer timetable comes into effect on Sunday 22 May 2011.

There will be a number of improvements made to Southern services which include additional trains on the Brighton Mainline and changes to some train times and calling patterns.

Passengers will need to be aware that Smitham station will be re-named Coulsdon Town on 22 May and will be replaced with the new station name in the timetable.

Highlights of the new timetable include:

  • The introduction of additional hourly trains on Sundays between Brighton and London Victoria. Until 4 September, additional trains will depart from London Victoria (0936 and then hourly until 2036) and from Brighton (0910 and then hourly until 2010).
  • A number of West London route trains will be extended beyond East Croydon to terminate at South Croydon.
  • On Sundays until 4 September, trains between Tonbridge and Redhill will be extended to and from London Bridge.

Passengers are advised to check their train times before travelling. Timetables are available from staffed Southern stations and online.

For the month of May, customers can take advantage of a 26% discount on Advance and Off-Peak fares when bought online.
