The Essex and South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership has entered a new era with the launch of a new office and a new website.

Essex County Council and National Express East Anglia (NXEA) are ‘delighted’ to be supporting the partnership as it enters this exciting new phase.

The new ESSCRP office at Manningtree station, provided by National Express East Anglia, will enable the partnership to have a greater connection with rail travellers and the local community alike.

It will also bring a new element to Manningtree station – with a dedicated CRP officer on site, to add a new facet to this flourishing station. A new ESSCRP office will also be opening at Rochford station, situated on the ‘Sunshine Coast’ line in Essex.

In addition, the ESSCRP is also launching a new, improved website, which will do much to help promote the community rail lines in the area, providing train service information, dedicated station pages and information about local events and places to visit.

County Councillor Norman Hume, Essex County Council Cabinet Member of Highways and Transportation said:

“The opening of this new office and the launch of the stylish new website is an exciting new phase in the life of the Essex and South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership. I’m glad to see this important partnership going from strength to strength.”

The revitalised community rail partnership has the prospect of exciting plans for the coming year including further station improvements and the potential for expansion, with the possibility that the Braintree branch line may become a part of the community rail partnership in 2011/12.

Geraint Hughes Stakeholder Manager for NXEA said:

“The Community Rail Partnership is crucial in promoting and sustaining the railway in our area and we are pleased to be playing our part in the partnership at this exciting time.”
