National Express train operator c2c has scored an impressive hat-trick of industry wins by reaching the top of the national punctuality table for the third month in a row.

The punctuality of Britain’s franchised train operators is measured every four weeks by Network Rail and official rail industry figures released today confirm that c2c has once again topped the table, with over 24 of every 25 trains on time.

This latest achievement by c2c in delivering a hat-trick of punctuality leading performance for February, March and now April 2011, demonstrates again the excellence and consistency of service that c2c provides for the communities served by the operator in East London and South Essex.

Julian Drury Managing Director of c2c said:

“I’d like to congratulate the c2c team on achieving a hat-trick and topping the punctuality table for the third month in a row with 96.33% of our trains on time. This is tremendous news for our customers and the communities we serve in London and South Essex.

“As a local railway with the customer at the heart of everything we do, we will continue to concentrate our efforts on serving our community, and providing a consistently high level of service.”

Andy Bottom, Network Rail’s Area Manager, said:

“Passengers deserve and expect excellent service on the railway, which is something we’re helping to deliver along with our colleagues at c2c. The partnership we have in place is an excellent example of how teamwork in the rail industry continues to boost punctuality and passenger satisfaction while delivering a value for money railway.”

c2c‘s hat-trick is the latest in a series of achievements the train operator has notched up in recent years. c2c holds the UK records for the highest annual punctuality by a franchised train operator at 96.7% and the record for any 4 week period at 98.8%. Customer satisfaction with c2c services, measured in the National Passenger Survey in both spring and autumn 2010 was 91%.
