AECOM will complete the final design elements of the new I-225 light rail line after being awarded the contract by the Denver Regional Transportation District.
The global provider of professional support services will work on various design aspects including; tracks, seven full stations and part of an eighth station, multiple traffic signals and grade crossings, landscaping, eight bridges and transit systems
The value of AECOM’s contract was not disclosed.
AECOM, chairman and chief executive officer John M. Dionisio, said: “Our excellent performance on Denver’s Union Station and our five-year track record of delivering innovation and creativity to RTD were essential to our being asked to lead the design team for the I-225 line.
“I am extremely proud that AECOM will help advance this important project.”
The 10.5-mile I-225 line is part of the region’s ongoing FasTracks System.
It will further link Denver’s southern communities to Denver International Airport via the East Line, and will connect the entire region to the rapidly growing Anschutz-Fitzsimons Medical Campus and Aurora City Center.
