South Korean rail operator Korail has placed a 111.6 billion won order with Hyundai Rotem for 128 new electric metro/commuter carriages.
The majority of the cars will replace the existing fleet on the Gyeongin Line (four 10-car trains) and the Gwacheon-Ansan line (seven 10-car trains).
The remaining 18 carriages (three six-car trains) will serve the Gyeongwon line.
Hyundai Rotem said it would deliver the EMUs by the end of 2019.
