Driver training has begun on the new 30-mile Borders Railway.
Training will continue throughout the summer, as final preparations continue ahead of the start of services on September 6.
The Borders Railway, which includes new stations at Shawfair, Eskbank, Newtongrange, Gorebridge, Stow, Galashiels and Tweedbank, is the longest section of new railway to be built in Britain for more than 100 years.
Several special events have been held to mark the completion of the railway. A train has been named in honour of railway campaigner Madge Elliot, who led a campaign in the late 1960s to reopen the Waverley line.
Engineers are continuing to test the signalling and telecommunications systems, and automatic driver warning systems.
