The head of Poland’s Mazovia region said he hopes passengers appreciate a new fleet of Impuls 45WE EMUs after receiving the first train from manufacturer Newag.

Mazowieckie Railways placed a €62 million order for 12 new trains in November 2014 for the Warsaw – Skierniewice line.

The five-car vehicles – the first of their kind in Poland – have a total capacity for 531 passengers, 206 seated.

The Impuls EMUs, which have an operating speed of 160 km/h comply with European standards on interoperability.
