Carrington West releases 2023 rail salary survey

Recruitment firm Carrington West has announced that its 2023 Rail Salary Survey & Guide is now available to download. The helpful and informative guide highlights some of the hiring and salary trends for job roles within the rail sector.

The survey covers a short 2022 market overview as well as a 2023 market outlook where the firm’s consultant team shares its views on expected salary trends in the coming months.

The job market over the past year has been noticeably vacancy rich. As the dust settles and a clearer picture emerges of what post pandemic working practices look like, we are beginning to a disconnect between employers gradually wanting their teams to be more office based and employees standing firm in their demand for flexibility and working from home options. The current cost of living crisis has caused the biggest increases in salary levels seen for some time.

Nick Rowe, Carrington West Director says: “The rail sector has been busy as major projects continue to receive funding and as a result have high staffing needs. The hiring managers we speak to daily are aware that they are competing for top professionals and in most cases are willing to be flexible in their requirements to ensure they secure the talent they need.”

Department Manager, Oliver Gooch adds: “It remains an exciting time to be working in rail. There are many opportunities for professionals at the beginning of their careers to develop their skills and find their niche.”
