As the cost-of-living crisis continues to unfold, Carlisle Support Services maintains people at the forefront of everything it does. It is now more important than ever that the industry prioritises the well-being and financial security of its workforce to continue delivering uninterrupted levels of service to the general public.

As a Recognised Service Provider under the Living Wage Foundation, Carlisle Support Services continues to work very closely with Northern Trains to stay aligned to the real living wage and support its Carlisle family members in times of economic challenges. This proactive approach reflects the company’s dedication to providing a fair and competitive remuneration package that acknowledges the hard work and contributions of its staff members.

Paul Evans, CEO at Carlisle Support Services said: “Our people are at the heart of all we do, and we are fully committed to their success and well-being. We firmly believe that fair compensation is not just a benefit but a fundamental right. We are very proud to have been able to increase wages by some 69% over recent years on the Northern Trains contract. We have a superb team who deliver outstanding outcomes for our client, and I would like to thank them personally for what they do every day.”

The past seven years has seen the company implement consistent pay increases to stay ahead of cost-of-living challenges, having just announced increases for front-line staff of an average of 10% from the 1st of April 2024. Working with its recognised union, GMB, to review the current wage rates within the contract, Carlisle have arranged for the hourly pay rate to be increased in line with the Living Wage Foundation. Similarly, this has seen an appropriate increase for those that were already ahead of these rates.

Paul went on to say: “We believe in fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment where every Carlisle family member feels valued, respected, and empowered to succeed. Our commitment to putting people first extends beyond compensation to encompass various initiatives aimed at promoting work-life balance, career growth, and overall job satisfaction.”

Carlisle Support Services remains dedicated to transparent communication and fostering a positive relationship with its family members, clients, stakeholders, and the wider public. The company encourages anyone with questions or concerns about its policies or practices to contact us directly for clarification.
