Awards success for Advance TRS

Awards season is upon us once more – and for Advance TRS, it promises to be better than ever.

This year, the specialist recruitment company has received an impressive 10 nominations across five categories at three separate ceremonies: the RailStaff Awards, the British Recruitment Awards, and the SME Surrey Business Awards.

RailStaff Awards 2023

The RailStaff Awards celebrate the achievements of the country’s rail veterans – from drivers and cleaners to engineers and station attendants. Bringing together some of the largest and most renowned suppliers, providers, and organisations, it’s a night of recognition and of paying thanks to those who deliver the UK’s railway.

A relentless pursuit of success for Advance TRS’s customers earnt principal consultant Josh Hill and business development director Mick Schruyers a total of six nominations in this year’s Recruitment and Talent Acquisition Person of the Year category. Both Josh and Mick were named as finalists in their category on 25 October! With commendations from Babcock and VolkerRail representatives, among many others, it’s an extraordinary recognition of their commitment to the industry.

The Recruitment and Talent Acquisition category shines a light on those who “work tirelessly to support their clients and candidates needs”. With a proven track record in delivering outstanding results for candidates and clients alike, Advance TRS is confident that they stand a chance at bringing home gold.

Mick recently celebrated his sixth anniversary with Advance TRS. During his time with the business, he has served as rail infrastructure director and business development director. Renowned for his collaborative approach, Mick has nurtured close relationships with clients.

Speaking of his nomination, Mick said: “I am exceptionally proud of the time, work, and dedication that has been invested into our client relationships. I am even more grateful that so many of Advance TRS’s clients have gone out of their way to nominate me for this award. It’s a real privilege.”

Josh joined Advance TRS as a recruitment consultant in January 2016. Now a principal consultant, he leads the Civils and Permanent Way team, drawing on years of practical experience managing country-wide recruitment for large scale rail projects.

“I’m very flattered to have been recognised at the RailStaff Awards alongside Mick and other brilliant recruiters,” said Josh. “For the last four years, my focus has been on developing Advance TRS’ strengths in Permanent Way and Civils so that we can deliver even better results for the sector. I’m incredibly proud of everything we have achieved.”

British Recruitment Awards

With this in mind, it’s hardly surprising that Advance TRS has been nominated for Agency Recruitment Team of the Year (Less than 50 Employees) and Engineering Recruitment Agency of the Year the British Recruitment Awards.

The awards are adjudicated by some of the most prestigious figures in the UK market, including Anglo American’s Head of Global Talent Acquisition and Unilever’s Head of Talent Partnering.

The awards ceremony will take place on 8 November at Salsa! Temple, London.

SME Surrey Business Awards

The last time Advance TRS attended the SME Surrey Business Awards, it took home gold for High Growth and as the Overall Winner. This year, the organisation is being recognised in the Business of the Year (Less than 50 Employees) and Employer of the Year categories.

The awards celebrate the very best businesses in the county and are a veritable endorsement of success. Judges look for businesses that ‘show initiative, boldness and imagination’.
