Ansaldo STS awarded €100m signalling and railway systems contract in Italy

Italian company Ansaldo Signalling and Transportation Systems (Ansaldo STS) has been given a €100 million two-year contract in its native country.

The engineering firm will provide technical assistance and maintenance and repair and will upgrade systems on the RFI network in Italy.

The two-year contract covers a number of systems, including radio block centres and ERTMS.

RFI is a subsidiary of FS and provides signalling, maintenance and other services for the railway network.

A statement on Ansaldo STS’s website reads: “Ansaldo STS is proud to support RFI’s commitment for the renovation of railways systems and to support the improvement of safety for passengers and the entire community.”
