Transport for London won the Institution of Mechanical Engineers’ annual Railway Challenge on 28 June 2015, the first team to retain the trophy.
The competition brings together teams of university students, industry-based apprentices and graduates to develop, design and manufacture a 10¼-inch gauge locomotive, with the intention of attracting new blood into the railway industry.
