Richard Graham was recently appointed as the new managing director of Keolis Amey Docklands (KAD), the company responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) in London.
In his new role at KAD Richard has responsibility for the strategic leadership of the KAD team and to ensure the DLR’s outstanding performance is sustained as part of Transport for London’s (TfL) integrated services. In addition, he will be collaborating with TfL to ensure the success of the planned delivery and introduction of new trains on the DLR in the coming years.
Richard was previously the performance and development director of Keolis UK, a role which he had held since 2019, and was a member of the company’s executive team and Board. He was also on the board of directors for Keolis Amey Operations in Wales and KAD in London since the start of 2020.
Prior to this Richard worked in the United States for Keolis’ heavy rail operation in Boston – Keolis Commuter Services – where he was vice president for strategy and performance from 2017 to 2019. Here he led major projects and change across the business, designing and implementing a significant turnaround project for the network.
Before joining Keolis, Richard spent ten years, in both the UK and US, as a consultant for Newton – an international business consultancy firm – leading projects and programmes across a variety of major businesses and organisations in the transport, infrastructure, and defence sectors.

Richard is a graduate of Oxford University with a master’s degree in engineering.
