International engineering consultancy Rendel Limited, a subsidiary of the French-owned Ingerop Group, has purchased a controlling interest in T&RS Engineering Limited, a railway rolling stock engineering consultancy based in United Kingdom.

T&RS Engineering specialises in rolling stock maintenance, overhaul, technical support and auditing services to train operators, maintainers, and leasing companies.

Rendel’s managing director, Vardaman Jones said: “T&RS Engineering is a client-focussed business, like Rendel and Ingerop, and the cultural synergies that our companies share will enhance the offering to our clients.

“We are very excited about the opportunities that will arise from this purchase. Rendel and Ingerop will be looking to T&RS Engineering to grow and extend its reach in the rail and transportation business in the UK, Australia and in other markets where the group is present.”

T&RS Engineering is a growing engineering consultancy specialising in the maintenance, overhaul and technical support for fleets of traction and rolling stock. Providing engineering support to train operating companies, rolling stock leasing companies, manufacturers, maintainers and other rail service providers, T&RS Engineering operates throughout the UK rail industry.

The company focusses on reducing fleet maintenance costs; development of maintenance and overhaul technical documentation; improving fleet reliability and availability; reducing maintenance and overhaul downtimes; technical support; and design for maintenance and auditing.

Richard Poulton, managing director of T&RS Engineering said: “T&RS Engineering has already built a solid reputation in the UK rail industry for delivery of our key workstreams and our flexible, reliable, and pragmatic approach to each project.

“From the first meeting with Rendel we could easily visualise how T&RS Engineering could fit into the Ingerop Group and how our services complement each other’s. We are looking forward to working with Rendel and the Ingerop Group to grow, increase our service offering to our current market and expand our services outside of the UK.”
